In reality Mr Gore is talking about a complete change in society which is going to push up energy prices for those who can least afford it in the developed and developing world. But this is the consensus so the reporter does not question or "bring truth to consensus". Nor does she report any opposing opinions or ask why Al Gore refuses to take questions from reporters at these events. If you want to see the divide between the media and the population just look at the comment section below the article. It is a good representation of what America thinks about raising energy prices in the middle of a recession.
